About John

John was as Philadelphia as a soft pretzel, or a proper Philadelphia cheesesteak. He grew up in Northeast Philadelphia, attending Father Judge Catholic High School. John attended LaSalle University and later met his wife, Susan, in nursing school.

John and Susan have three children: Frances (or Fran, the Millennial Caregiver), Sarah, and John. He was a frequent coach of the kids sports teams when they were growing up.

John began his medical career as a flight nurse and emergency room manager. He eventually switched into IT health before being diagnosed with Alzheimer's in February 2016 (on Valentine's Day, to be exact). Outside of work, John was an avid runner whose favorite race was The Broad Street Run.

John passed away on August 26, 2021 due to Alzheimer's Disease.

Prior to his death, John spent his days taking walks in the neighborhood, making cards for family members and friends, and cheering on all of the Philadelphia Sports teams (Go Phillies!)
